Abstract

Slaves and slavery were an accepted part of everyday Anglo-Saxon life. This paper examines a range of original sources that reveal the ways in which the teachings and practices of Christianity and Christians were part of that acceptance.

Author Biography

Patricia M Dutchak

Patricia M. Dutchak received her Bachelor of Arts with combined honours in History and Classics in 1999 and her Master of Arts in 2001 at the University of Alberta. She is now in the early stages of a Ph.D in early medieval history, focusing on Carolingian historians and history-writing.
