Sur la traduction du théâtre francophone africain : l’exemple de Werewere Liking
Résumé
This article will focus on the last theatre production of Werewere Liking – Le Parler-Chanter and Médée – that I had the opportunity to translate into Italian. Born in Cameroon and currently living in Ivory Coast, where she created a group of artists coming from all over Africa, she is not only a playwright, but also a talented essayist, stage director, novelist, and painter. The language used by the author, the multiple translation choices, and the overall quality of the translation will be discussed and analysed.
