Author Guidelines

Article Submissions

After you are Logged In and/or Registered, select “User Home—Author”. After clicking this link, you will be able to proceed to the online submission process.

* Although there is no pre-determined length, most papers fall between 5000 and 7500 words.
* Please note at the top of the text (in 11 or 12-Point Times New Roman italics) whether your submission is an article, insider insight, or book review.

General Formatting:
* Single space the body of the text and references (leaving one line between citations).
* Use a 12-Point Times New Roman bolded font.
* The rest of the text should be an 11- or 12-Point Times New Roman font.
* Employ italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses)
* All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
* Figures are clear, black/white or coloured and numbered using Arabic numbers.

It is important to remember when formatting your article to not let the word processing software format it for you -- do it manually. Do not use the automatic bullet or numbered list features.

Author Details:
* Provide the authors’ full name(s), affiliation, and geographic locale.
* If the authors are all from the same institution, you can list their names together and list the affiliation/geographic locale only once.

Abstract, Keywords, and Authors’ Note:
* Provide an abstract, which effectively summarizes the content of your paper.
* Provide 5-7 keywords which effectively describe the main themes of your article.
* You may include an author’s note here.
* Bold the section headings and label them as abstract, keywords and author’s note.
* The abstract heading should be centered above the abstract.
* The keywords and author’s note should precede their text with a colon.
* Complete the text box for an abstract in the submission's metadata section.

Headings and Block Quotes:
* Level one headings are bold and centered.
* Level two headings should be bold and aligned left.
* Level three headings should be italic and aligned left.
* Block quotes should be indented.

Notes:
* Notes should follow the centered heading “Notes” in 11- or 12-Point Times New Roman.
* They should be numbered, but be sure not to use the automatic numbering function in word.

References:
* The reference list should follow the centered bolded heading “References”.
* References should be single spaced with one line between citations.

General Issues:
The text, if submitted to a peer-reviewed section, should have the authors' names removed. The author's name should also be removed from the document's properties, which in Microsoft Word is found in the File menu. Please also remove any other text content that might serve as identifiers, including authors' notes acknowledging support.

Articles submitted to IJQM will be blind reviewed prior to acceptance or rejection. This process can take up to two or three months. Reviewers are available for most of the major languages of the world, and many of the less common ones.

All authors are responsible for the content of their articles. Research published in IJQM must have been reviewed and approved by the necessary ethics review boards, and have attained all necessary participant consents and permissions. Releases from identifiable persons must be submitted with photographs or video stills. Permissions to use more than 500 words of any copyrighted text, or any portion of poetry, must be obtained from the copyright holder by the author, and notice of such permission must accompany the initial submission to IJQM.

Style

Please use the most recent version of the APA style for your references and citations.

Graphics

Electronic publishing allows for a convenient and inexpensive method of publishing full color graphics, so please feel free to use photographs and illustrations where appropriate. When incorporating an image, such as a photograph, a video screen capture, a table, or an illustration into your article, please insert it into the appropriate position in the body of the article you are submitting for review.
